I was interested when I read this news....
The truth is that the first thing that I thought was:
How can a person be able to paint over a masterpiece?
Or without being a masterpiece.....
How can someone paint over the work of another person?I understand that were other times, and of course performers hadn't enough material to paint their works.
But I think that there is an unbreakable and essencial rule to all this:
Do not destroy the work of another person.
And now, we have got two masterpieces in one:
Giorgio Vasari and Leonardo da Vinci. Two italian Renaissance artists that revolutionized the culture:
Vasari is considered creator of the ideological foundation of the art-historical writing.
Da Vinci, one of the greatest painters of all tine and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived. A genius.
"There may not be in the world an example of another genius so universal, so incapable of fulfilment, so full of yearning for the infinite, so naturally refined, so far ahead of his own century and the following centuries."Hippolyte Taine,1866
